Whitley is always leaving us little pictures and notes. She left this one on our desk and I think it's so cute. She knows what Christmas is really all about and I'm so glad. She also loves to give gifts to others which is a big part of what it's all about. Some times it's hard to teach our kids the difference between giving to others and wanting for ourselves. The cool thing is, is that as we give we also receive and so every one is happy. She reminded me with this picture that the gratest gifts don't come from the store, but from the heart.
Kaitlyn made this awsome Proclamation to the Family poster at Acheivement Days, she has a wonderful leader who does all these cool things with the girls.
Any way, I thought these pictures of our family turned out so good. My friend took them for us up on the mountain this fall. The leaves were amazing and all the kids cooperated so well and we all had a really good time. Duke and I haven't had a good picture together sinse Kaitlyn was a baby so it was time and I think they turned out quite well. All our kids are growing up so fast. It's amazing how fast time flies. They are all such good kids and they bring us so much joy, even when they are having their teen moments. We have truely been blessed.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

I've been having technical difficulties with this blogging thing. I guess I need to do it more so I can get better at it, but any way, that's why there are no new pictures yet. There will be when I get it figured out.
I still want to write and wish every one a Verry Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I feel so blessed to have the Gospel of Jesus Christ and my family in my life. These are the most important things to me. I believe that this time of year is special because we are given an extra measure of Christs Spirit. I always feel more love and joy this time of year and it becomes easier to give and to express love. Maybe it's a gift or a blessing from above to remind us of the unlimited love of our Heavenly Father. I hope you all can feel my love for each of you and that you can also feel the love of God and His Son. May you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year!!!

Love, Shiree

fruits of our labors

We wanted to do a bigger garden this year, especially more corn. So Duke plowed up some of the horse pasture and planted the whole thing in sweet corn. Here's Wyatt out hoeing away. Here's Wyatt again in the corn patch hoeing and watering. He's such a good farmer. The corn is growing bigger every day thanks to good soil, good water, sun shine, Wyatt and Heavenly Father.

Thumbs up!! The corn is ready and we're so excited to taste it. It's turned out so good that Duke and Wyatt want to grow a whole field of it next year.

Here's Wyatt and his best friend Aaron (who helped pack all this stuff down stares after the picture was taken) showing off the peaches, green beans, pickles and corn we put up.

It's was alot of work to put up all this food, and messy, but it sure is worth it and it feels great knowing it's there for you when you need it. This is only part of what we did and we're still not done. Apples are next. YEA!!!

Wyatt's our cowboy. Here he's riding our horse Annie. He'd live on the back of a horse if he could.
Duke killed a rattle snake up where we keep our animals. Whitley and MaCoy thought it was so cool.
Here's a lovely picture of me with Whitley and MaCoy. I only put it on here so people will know my kids do love me some times and because it's better than the first picture of me on this blog. I'm not ornery all the time.

MaCoy at the auction. He loved being in with all the little sheep. He loves animals.

Whitley and MaCoy with the baby lambs. I think they wanted to bring them home. Oh darn.
